It was pretty boring, actually. Not much to do. I just moped around the hotel lobby the entire timea nd talked to these totally weird guys who were dressed up as these crappy aliens. Yeah, there was this conference going on and I was like "Uhhhhhhh screw it, I'll eat bacon instead."
LOL JOKES IT WAS INCREDIBLE AT INVADERCON AND I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT.
RICHARD HORVITZ WAS THERE WITH ANDY AND MELISSA AND RICHARD AND RIKKI AND ERIC TRUEHART AND RICHARD RICHARD RICHARD-- *dead*
/childhood fulfilled./
Okay, so I forced my dad to wake up at 7:30 and, impatiently, ran downstairs in my GERMS!Suit to register. I realised I needed a passport. Went back. Got said passport. Ran back down. Registered. AND THEN OPENING CEREMONIES AND SCRIPT-READING~
Oh God, the LOL. I won't say a single thing, I'll just post these two convenient videos:

Oh, and guess which part was my favourite. Take a good freaking guess.
Can anyone spell "FAN SERVICE?!"
And after that was a Q&A with Richard which I stayed for. I actually asked him what he thought of my costume!! HE LOVED IT! And for those who don't believe, I have shaky footage of me asking him with a shout-out to my mum. X3
I felt really self-absorbed for asking him, but I felt so flattered when he complimented me on it (plus I was kinda picked out for a question because of it)! And afterwards I caught the attention of a lot of great cosplayers and girls (including the girls behind Operation: Head Pigeons!) and ended up having a mini-photoshoot with them all! The socially awkward part of me crashed at that point and I felt so, SO welcomed to be there.
Everything that came after that was a bit of a blur... I tried to get into Artist Alley straight after that, but that tiny little room was full of every single Zim fan ever. Cramped, I left to get Richard's autograph. The line was huuuuuggggge! It was the longest one out of all the cast members, purely because Richard spent a lot of time actually talking and signing our photos for him ($20 an autograph!)
He was so sweet when he was talking with me! There was so, SO much I wanted to tell him but I just shrivelled up and became too shy... So I handed over his signed copy of the drawing I did for him, awkwardly asked him for some video to help me remember this, and walked off while trying to pick up my dignity and my phone. XD
I popped my head into the SciFi Janitors panel for a few minutes to see how it was going. It looked fun and a little goofy, but there were some puppeteers in training that were just being camera-whores or making it really difficult to improvise a scene. I really wanted to enter it and have a bit of a moment to show off, despite the fact that I had no puppet, but I left to do other stuff as it was starting to wind down.
Oh God, what did I do next? Uuuuuhhh.... I'mma gonna skip to the Costume Contest. I arrived late for it and, in my scramble to get there, left my rubber gloves and hand-painted can of GERM AWAY on the other side of the room. FML. So I didn't make a place, unfortunately, and felt a lil' crushed. But the winners were fantastic!! A giant Mimi, a girl from Soapy Waffles dressed as Moofy the girl-scout-ninja-thing, a girl dressed in a bobble-head Zim costume and this PERFECT Doctor Membrane outfit by this Swedish girl. They were the perfect winners!
Oh, speaking of competitions: THE ZMV CONTEST! Watching all the entires I was kicking myself for not doing anything! They were all so... welll... Windows Movie Maker. They were good, really, but coming from a girl that does editing as a full-time hobby I was really disappointed and felt like I could clear the room easily. I managed to tape a few of the better entries (including one by my good friend EleanorRose on YouTube! But she wasn't there at the Con...) but most of them were pretty lame... sorry. But the winner overall? OH MY GOD. They showed it just after Richard and Andy were finished signing their autographs for their afternoon session and invited them in to present the prize... it was a ZADR AMV. <3
THEIR EXPRESSIONS WERE HYSTERICAL~!! I have it recorded and I'll post it when I can. x
So then they had a panel with the entire cast next (which I'm pretty sure has been posted on YouTube if you wanted to check it out. I'll try and find a link later on.) It was really fun!! It gave birth to the new word of the weekend that we repeated over and over ("CLOOUUUUDYYYY") as well as bring back memories of Rikki's broken foot and the receptionist that stood on it. XD
Everyone was so funny and it was great to ask them all questions together, even if I wasn't picked that day (I'll tell you what I asked in a few paragraphs on.) But it was great to be there and to hear them talk again, despite the fact that it had been eight or so years since they last me as a big group.
*sniffle*
So yeah, t'was fun. After all that there was the Dinner of Doom! which I didn't have tickets for, but the next day I found out that some guests didn't even show up! It pissed me off so much that there were about six empty seats RIGHT NEXT TO THE CAST and nobody even bothered to show up. For a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Really? Come on. A little disappointed in Green Mustard for not doing a last-minute shout-out or anything, too, but they would have to consider that if the people DID show up and their seats were taken they'd have to deal with refunds and general confusion. But, nonetheless, I was really upset about that. I'd have LOVED to go (I travelled around the entire freaking world for this thing!!) and to hear that some people weren't realising just how lucky they were ticked me off. -n-
DANCE LIKE A MONKEY TIME! I stayed up until midnight dancing to Ke$ha, Aqua, Britney Spears and all these classic dance songs that I loved. It was more of a awkward high-school dance than anything else, but it was good for a laugh. I was really hoping that Rikki or Richard would make an appearance, but it was late and they were full from dinner so it was a no-show from them.
BUT OMG. I HAVE BEEN CONVERTED. There was this gorgeous couple cosplaying as Zim and Dib at the party and about three-quarters of the way through they started getting REALLY into the music and did this kind of sexy-slow-mo dance. A huge circle of fangirls crowded them with cameras (I was somewhere there) and the guys managed to put a spotlight on 'em--
AND SWEET CHRIST RIKKI SIMMONS HAS JUST SAT IN FRONT OF ME.
ACT COOL.
ACT.
FUCKING
COOL.
*squee*The benefits of waking up at 6am to stalk your favourite cast members. SO ANYWAY~ These two wondefully patients fans kissed in their costume on the floor, sparking a whole wave of fangasms and finally converting me into becoming a ZADR fangirl. It's so, SO hot in real life. XDD
Literally. Dib was forced to try and strip off her jacket all sexy-like because it was so warm in there. Oh well. It converted me into becoming a ZADR fangirl and sparked me into drawing a very badly-done ZADR pic.
And... Oh God, I'm sorry, I have to go talk to Rikki.
I'LL UPDATE IN FIVE SECONDS WITH NEWS ABOUT SUNDAY!!! JUST GIMME A SECOND TO SCARE THE POOR GOTH. *facepalm.*
Damn you're lucky!
You're a ZADR shipper now? Sweet!
OMG, I would do anything to meet that man! He's like one of my heroes!!!
Glad you had a fun time! Wish I was there!
You were so nervous about going and I'm so happy to hear you had such a good time! I love you Jessie and I miss you a LOT, but it's great to hear you're having the time of your life
