I've started a new Tumblr for RPs and asks, starring a newer version of Jess/my self-insert! I'm going to be selective on who I roleplay with, but I'd like a few questions and prods about Jess to start her off. Feel free to ask about friends, her background, her favourite things, whatever you'd like. You can ask on Anon or as yourself, I'll answer either way. The more the better!

I'm using it as a kind of practice to loosen up my art between assignments and create more expressive characters. I have realised that in order to post more stories here in the journals about where Joker & Jess (and Jess's boyfriend) are now, I have to post about what happened in between WAPP and today.

So guess what?

You guys are getting some story summaries! The first one is WAPP's direct sequel, A Not So Pretty Show, where Jessica meets Music Meister and Jester is explored a little more as a character. I have to tell you, it starts venturing into the reason why Jess/I relied on Joker a lot, and some of the bad decisions I made because of my feelings for him and what I've been through in the past. It doesn't show anything explicit but it's still a lot of personal venting, and if you don't want to see me in that light that's okay.

It's really interesting, writing these now as an adult. The tone and story have changed a little bit since I first imagined them, as has the relationship between Joker and Jess. It's really uncomfortable for me now at 21 to write grown men fighting for the affections of an underaged girl so the dynamic has shifted a little to a more platonic level, framing MM's interest in her as less of a physical attraction and more of a soulful/musical one.

Also I might change the title? Maybe? Your options are:

2. A Not So Pretty Show

I saw the Lego Batman movie for the second time and I'm completely back on this bandwagon. Expect some little drabbles/JxJ journal entries soon! But I have to ask something important: do you want Jess to be single?

I always had this idea in mind that in the J/J canon, when Jess goes back to Joker to rekindle a friendship she's seeing somebody else. Specifically, seeing another self-insert boy from her own universe. This makes for all fine interaction, and Jess and Joker can still get up to shenanigans in platonic ways, but I know what you fans are like, damn it. And if you want this to turn to a sexual nature, flirty, or otherwise, tell me now. I will provide <3

Ummmmm so here's the thing

With Suicide Squad being laughably awful, and a date to see the long-awaited Lego Batman Movie coming up, Joker has been on my mind a lot. I'm still neck-deep in Gravity Falls, but he's definitely touched base here and there. I might have a few dozen headcanons and things like that in mind, and re-reading my old chapters of WAPP has rekindled some love I have for my old high school indulgence.

So don't expect any chapters or drabbles, I really don't have time for that anymore. But I certainly might have the time to write up some of those old JxJ journal entries/mini-episodes? Maybe?

Anyway, just a heads-up that the things you loved in high school never REALLY fade. See you around <3

Jessica swallowed. “You knew the Author. And something happened between you guys that turned a good friendship bad.” Those blue eyes kept dancing, taking nervous glances at the triangle as she considered her words. “And the cave paintings, and the cipher wheel, and… You’ve told me so much about the world, Bill, and I am amazed. But I know nothing about you…! I barely know what you gave me these powers for in the first place!!”

“YOU KNOW WHY!” he said, a laugh to his voice. He set the champagne glass on an imaginary table, and it floated perfectly in the air beside him. “YOU’RE A BRIGHT KID, WITH A LOT OF IMAGINATION, AND IT—“

“Bill, no, I…” She bit her lip. The interruption made her blink. Jean gave a sigh, gentle but clearly pent-up, like the steam from a kettle. “Give me something… real. You gave me these for a reason. And you still haven’t told me what that reason is. I’m too polite to ask what your intentions are, but if you don’t want me using them for fun with my friends, and you don’t want me performing onstage, then you have to tell me what this whole thing is about.”

She didn’t even sound angry anymore. Just a bit stressed, a bit desperate, and finally snapping a little. Jess was a straight-shooter when she was serious. It was rare, but she could be. He was wondering whenabouts she’d finally pop the question. And her nerves were turning from quiet and unspoken to loud, and straight-forward, and determined. Enough games. Enough mindless flattery. She was asking for some truth. Bill sighed in a defeated manner. He couldn’t avoid this topic. “SO YOU WANNA HEAR IT? THE TRAGIC TALE OF BILL THE TRIANGLE GUY?”

Jessica Jean nodded.
